Amazing how a close up look at something as common as a fly, can give such an intresting and beautiful image.

What macro lens do you have? I used the vr version, that makes a great deal of difference. Trick is to shoot on burst with vr to maximize the chance of it working. Also
manually focused to the closest possible and then just moved the camera backwards and forewards instead

Brooke, did you use manual or automatic focus ? ( and did you use something to steady the camera ? )
( I have a D5000, but haven't been able to manage the macro all that well. )
