I love the subtle pastel colours in this, Judy. Straightening the horizon though, would really make this picture shine. I noticed you are using CS3. In case you're not sure how (or for others who are unaware), for a straighter horizon, use the Rul...
Great idea. When doing this type of shot, a polariser would help reduce glare in the sky. Sunglasses also work with piont and shoot cameras. Just a thought.
Great shot of the causeway with those reflections and the late light touching the hills behind. Would have been great if you also took another shot or two to the left and stitched them into a panorama. Nice colours.
Yes Judy I think our Charlie is special as well. In regard to taking pics of your Merlin, have a search on Flickr under 'Black Pets', there you will find in the discussion section some helpful advice on getting great captures of your little black friend. I just had a quick look and scrolled through a subject heading of 'Tips for Taking Black Pet Pictures'. They are difficult subjects to capture well. Look forward to seeing how you get on.
Thanks Judy, The night was as lovely as it looks. not a breath of wind ,not a cloud in the sky frogs croaking and all the water birds telling each other that there was someone on their patch.
We did not get there until after 7pm so missed most of the action. Fireworks were all over by 8pm. Lots of great lanterns on display, bigger and better than last year.
Hi Judy thanks for looking - the yellow bit is canola - Malcolm

I miss the area. Still get down there for walks along the beach with my dog. Always have a look at the old haunts.
