Yes Judy I think our Charlie is special as well. In regard to taking pics of your Merlin, have a search on Flickr under 'Black Pets', there you will find in the discussion section some helpful advice on getting great captures of your little black friend. I just had a quick look and scrolled through a subject heading of 'Tips for Taking Black Pet Pictures'. They are difficult subjects to capture well. Look forward to seeing how you get on.

Thanks Judy, The night was as lovely as it looks. not a breath of wind ,not a cloud in the sky frogs croaking and all the water birds telling each other that there was someone on their patch.

We did not get there until after 7pm so missed most of the action. Fireworks were all over by 8pm. Lots of great lanterns on display, bigger and better than last year.

well i dont know what it is. i find them on my geranium bushes. they are very,very,small and ugly as sin.tim googled it but couldn't find out what it is either
