Hello all!
I have been an amateur photographer for most of my adult life. Last year I re-kindled my love of the art by buying a Nikon D300 + 18-200mm lens, early in January I got an 80-400mm and it's magnificent. This is the first time I've ever displayed any of my work in a public forum. More stuff to show soon I hope.

What not to do with a good quality lens!!!
A while back I bought a nikon 80-400mm lens and wanting to protect my investment i ran out and got a UV filter to protect the lens. All up I was happy with the lens except when i was photographing something at a great distance (Hell that's why I got the thing). So after hours of experimenting I found the problem. Don't use low end filters on super telephoto lenses!!!
Attached are 2 pixs that are 100% crops from a 12 mp image. The difference is plain to see.
